Curriculum Vitae

Mayeul ARMINJON, born in Paris, December 6, 1954; married, five children.

Current position

Research Scientist (Staff): Chargé de Recherche au CNRS (from June 2008: section of theoretical physics; before that: section of solid mechanics),  Laboratory “ Soils, Solids, Structures - Risks ” (3S-R), Grenoble (France).
Tel.: +33 4 76 82 51 50, Fax: +33 4 76 82 70 43.
E-mail: [my first name beginning with M] dot [my family name beginning with A] at 3sr-grenoble dot fr

The list of my refereed publications is shown here. It is split into two very different parts: from the beginning of the year 1991, I started doing research in gravitational physics, mainly with an alternative theory which I proposed. This is quite remote from my original domain -- micro-macro transitions in the mechanics of materials.

Member of the International Society on General Relativity and Gravitation.

Previous positions

1986-1988: Research Scientist (Staff): Chargé de Recherche à l'Ecole des Mines de Paris at Cemef, Sophia-Antipolis: research on numerical simulation of forming processes, and on polycrystal plasticity.

1981-1986: Research Engineer, IRSID (Research Institute of the French Steel Industry, then in Saint-Germain-en-Laye near Paris): in charge of X-ray diffraction laboratory, and research on polycrystal plasticity.

Scientific stay in a foreign Laboratory
Physics Department, Bari University and INFN Bari (Italy), 01 July 2005 to 30 June 2006.

1988: Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, Mechanics, Université Paris-Nord.

1981: Ph.D. ("Thèse de Doctorat de 3ème cycle"), Mechanics, Université Grenoble I (now U. J. Fourier). Advisor: J.P. Boehler.

1979: M.S. ("Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies") in Solid Mechanics, Université Grenoble I. Advisor: J. Lanier.

1976: Maîtrise de Mathématiques, Université P. & M. Curie, Paris. ("Maîtrise" amounted to B.S. plus one year.)

1974: Diplôme Universitaire d'Etudes Scientifiques, Mathématiques-Physique, Université Grenoble I. (Majored.) (Amounted to B.S. minus one year.)

1972: Baccalauréat Série C (Mathématiques et Physique), Reims.

Ph.D. supervision

1. Thierry CHAMBARD, ``Contribution à l'homogénéisation en plasticité pour une répartition aléatoire des hétérogénéités", Doctorat, Université Joseph Fourier, 1993. I was co-advisor (for some 40 %) of this work, with Sylvain Turgeman.
